Worship
Worship at Centennial is about gathering around God's promises for the world: it is about what God does in, with, and for us. Worship here is liturgical--which does not mean worship is always traditional or always the same. It means we follow an outline of prayers, scripture reading, preaching, communion, songs and blessings before we are sent into the world to witness and share good news. We are learning that different liturgies and songs help us understand our relationship with God and each other differently. We welcome all who worship here to experience God's grace. Communion is open to everyone.
Slice of Heaven
All are welcome to join us for a Slice of Heaven on the third Wednesday of every month at 5:30. The cost is $5 per person and we encourage you to bring your own drink. We try to be outside in the summer (weather permitting) so consider bringing an outdoor chair.

Slice of Heaven is a low-key evening of fellowship and conversation. We have a lot of fun catching up with each other and sharing stories. If you'd like to join in, please call the front office at 303-798-1424.

Our Seasonal Traditions
Christmas
The church year starts with Advent and to get ready for the Christmas season, we deck the halls! We put up our Christmas tree and garland during the Hanging of the Greens. The 4 Sundays of Advent leading up to Christmas prepare us every year with a fresh understanding of what Christ's arrival into the world means. On Christmas Eve, we celebrate the full Christmas story with worship and special music.

LentLent begins with us sharing a meal on Ash Wednesday followed by a service and the imposition of ashes to prepare us for the season. Some years we share weekly soup suppers, some years we share weekly video devotionals by email. If you are not on our email list, please join us by sending a request to [email protected]
Holy WeekHoly Week starts with Palm Sunday, when we read the entire Passion story of Christ's death. We follow worship with our Palm Sunday brunch. On Good Friday, we send out a video worship service by email so that everyone can spend a moment of quiet contemplation on that somber evening. On Easter morning, we celebrate His resurrection with joyous worship service, song and fellowship!

Giving Back to Our Communities
Giving to God is a key part of who we are as a church. We give to our communities at a local, national, and international level. We want to make a difference in people's lives and our focus is on giving all we have, all we are, to God's work in the world.
The loudest part of our giving process is the once-a-month Noisy Offering when worshipers bring their loose coins and we collect them in a bucket- NOISILY! - as part of worship. Our first month, we had 20 pounds of change! We've recently restarted this tradition after COVID. The organizations we give to change every month from food banks to homeless shelters to small programs helping specific groups. Share your change to make a change! |
Even when we had to wear masks, we worshiped with smiles on our faces!
