Centennial Lutheran Church (CLC) started to form as a congregation on September 13, 1959 when 136 people gathered in a building with a chapel, office, and Sunday School room. On January 17, 1960 138 people signed a membership charter and Centennial Lutheran Church became an official congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Since our formation, the building and people of CLC have undergone a number of transformations.
Sanctuary 2013In 1988, CLC became part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. This means that we partner with many congregations, recognize that we are in communion with people of many denominations and backgrounds, and invite all people to participate in the worship and social life of the Church. If you ask us what we do, what our mission is, or how we live into the Christian life, you'll likely hear that: We feed people. As good Lutherans--and most Christians--often do, we gather weekly at the Lord's Table for communion. From there, we gather around food for fellowship. We love to host meals for the congregation and community. For the past 7 years we've run the Food Pantry, a bi-monthly ministry in which we gather non-perishable food items and offer them to families and individuals in the area. Our pantry is open on the first and third Wednesday each month. (Click here for pantry info.)
